there was almost no entry tonight.

but look!

here it is!

amazing, no?

im going to be dead tomorrow night.

i start my new job saturday.

guess what?

i start it BY MYSELF.

i open and close.

BY MYSELF.

woohoo will there be mad customers or what.

there was a period there i worked in, yes, food services.

i was that friendly crayon behind the counter making you whatever you requested.

and i do mean whatever.

i was every managers worst nightmare and every customers dream.

i routinely gave away food.

cookies and such.

especially if it was the end of the night.

and there was a hidden rule: if they asked for extra, only put blah blah more, if you put more than blah blah more, charge them.

i never charged.

always put more en blah blah if they wanted, too.

truth be told, it was my favorite job. thus far.

i mean i adored working with the children at that daycare. the library, the pretzel stand, the festivals, painting dumpsters, whatever, it couldnt compete to subway.

yes, seriously, subway.

they paid like crap, but it was nice.

i got so i had routine customers. people who would wait for me to finish, even if one of the other workers were there.

people like when they walk in for you to be able to smile and say "double bmt with spicy mayo, lettuce, lots of onions and pickles, a little green pepper" and all they have to do is nod.

the job also put me in constant contact with strangers, which is what i needed at that time because i am, was, a horribly shy kid. learned to talk, to enjoy being with new people for a short moment, to be open and entertaining.

got me some nice tips, too, actually.

i left subway, though. one of my greatest mistakes. the place i went to was filled with racist teenage cheerleaders.

and one helluva unique guy, ben, that taught me a lot in the space of time i knew him.

but ben left right quick.

so yeah, racist cheerleaders.

i was fired from that job.

heh.

the first job i was fired from, too.

woohoo for me!
