seeing as how my writing outside of this little venue has turned semi-political (i had an article published recently in response to anti-gay article published the week before), i shall now take this time to note something.

last night, somehow, i wound up watching the president's press conference. now, admittedly, i was a little doped up and a little out of it.

i did, however, note that the president, near the end of the conference, stress about freedom.

i walked away at that point to put on clothes or something.

but yeah. freedom. people should have freedom, so says he.

so says i.

except i include gays in this, and he doesn't. i dont see how you can honestly want to amend the constitution to limit the rights of perhaps 10% of the population and still stress how we're fighting in iraq for freedom.

freedom is freedom completely. you can't pick and choose.

here's a quote:

"i should like to know if taking this old declaration of independence, which declares that all men are equal upon principle, and making exceptions to it-- where will it stop?"

lincoln went on to say

"if one man says it does not mean a negro, why does not another say it does not mean some other man? if that declaration is not... true, let us tear it out!... let us stick to it then, let us stand firmly by it then."

either you do it all the way, or you prepare yourself for your rights to be stripped away eventually because you are not the right religion, you are not the right race, you are not the right pro/con stance, you believe in freedom from censorship.

also, on a completely different note:

it's killing me how many beautiful women are out there that i'll never interact with.
