my building was hit by lightning. i didnt leave work till 1 am that night, and i came back around 830 the next morning.

kim and i came as close to breaking up as i think we've ever been.

she told me it wouldnt bother her as much as she thought it would if i dated this other girl we both know.

and that felt, to me, like she was saying it was okay if we date other people.

and in my mind, it's not okay.

so we talked, as best we could. she wrote me a note. long note.

she doesnt want me dating other people.

she was saying that if i sat her down, one day, telling her that i found someone else i wanted to date, she'd understand better if she knew her.

she hugged me.
