i have a group of friends, great people, i love them, they're each amazing in their own way.

we often watch videos together. usually once a week, sometimes more, depending.

yet there are very few of us with actual memberships to video stores. i've got memberships to pretty much all the video stores around the town.

cause im all about belonging, you know.

and because ive got memberships, i volunteer to be used for the renting.

usually this works out good.

USUALLY.

however, because of them i do have a 17 dollar late fee at one video rental place.

see, you would think they would remember I DONT HAVE A CAR. other people, WITH TRANSPORTATION, need to handle the returning. i'll go with them, of course, but i cant actually physically take them back.

no, i could, but it'd be one hell of a walk.

i got a call today.

a video i rented 11 days ago has not been returned. i saw it being passed around, and i figured the person who had it last would take it back.

because she has a car, and i thought she knew it was under my name, and she feels bad about me having that late fee to begin with.

but she didnt.

and so now i have no idea who has it, though i have feelings, and i cant hunt down anyone who would know.

the person who i think has it might be in kentucky. IN KENTUCKY.

this wouldn't be so bad if i was actually in the city the tape was in, and the video store.

but i'm not.

im over an hours drive away.

this sucks my big fat toe.

hopefully i can get ahold of someone to at least return it for me. tomorrow. or later this week.

and watch the fee slowly grow.
