i spent some needed time with my sister today.

we drove each other here and there. she laughed at a cd i bought.

i'm going out tonight.

not out out. but with a bunch of friends.

and im really tempted to bring along the sis just because.

but the parents would kill me if i did that.

for one, she's sick and doesnt need to be walking around and doing who knows what in the crazy cold.

and for another she's got a crazy double header tomorrow (she was scouted last week, by the by) that she needs to rest up for.

and so on and so on.

my friends, i dont think, wouldn't mind that much if i did bring her along.

i've never had a serious injury.

never anything that's put me out of working condition or anything.

little sprained things, here or there.

there was that time a ball hit me right on the inside of my leg. more like hitting the ankle.

and i knew it was bad, bad as in not normal, bad as in there will be swelling.

but i continued on, hobbled, told people i was fine. and i was fine, the ankle didnt roll or anything, just swelled.

but that night, that night when i came home and took my sweats off

(cmon now, dont think about that)

and i got to pulling them off the feet i almost broke out in tears. the... uh... elastic of the bottom wasnt going around the swollen ankle.

but ive never had a broken bone, nose, twisted this or that.

and im thankful.

why im talking about this i do not know. im just sharing with you fine people.

i heard a great rhyme today.

but i cant remember what it was.

ill have to search long and hard for it.

but not really. i have a vague idea where it can be found.

and once i find you can be sure i will share it with you fine people.

thirty or so minutes ill be on my way.

and i will stop in the middle of the street as we're crossing and i will stop and i will sing you a song made up and sincerly out of tune and i will stop in the middle of the street and you will walk to the corner and turn to look at me stopped in the middle of the street singing sincerly and then you shall smile.

i was almost hit by a bus at the tail end of august. she yanked me out of the way.

and i sincerly thanked her.

i think.
